Introducing our New Spring Menu to the Restaurant

We’re delighted to introduce a new Spring menu to the restaurant at the Royal an Lochan.

Here at The Royal an Lochan we try to provide the freshest and most local ingredients  for you to taste, whether it be a meal in our restaurant or the Shinty Bar, you can be guaranteed it is fresh and where possible local.

Over the three and half years that we have had the hotel, we have established a good reputation for our local seafood, with award winning chef Tom Kitchin saying his “ideal meal would be a plate of langoustines and a glass of white wine with his wife by his side” in our restaurant.

Served fresh daily 6.30pm till 8.00pm

Starter Course

Confit of Local Salmon
roasted red pepper and tomato puree, pickled shallots, finished with crispy capers

Pan Seared Local Scallops
pork belly, apple puree and a fennel salad

Goat’s Cheese Terrine
smoked cherry tomatoes, pink grapefruit and basil dressing

Moules Mariniere
mussels with white wine and shallots

Boudin of Chicken and Roasted Chestnut
pickled vegetables served with a paprika and chive mayonnaise

Local Langoustines
served in their shells and simply poached in white wine and lemon juice

Main Course

Roast Rump of Scottish Lamb
spinach and wild mushrooms, fondant potatoes, ratatouille and jus

The Royal Scampi ‘n’ Chips
monkfish and langoustine nuggets, pont neuf potatoes, crushed peas, warm caper and gherkin butter sauce

Garlic and Thyme Roasted Chicken Supreme
buttered leeks and kale, char grilled potatoes and a coarse grain mustard jus

Honey, Ginger and Soy Glazed Duck Breast
sautéed pak choi, five spice roasted potatoes and a black bean jus
