2015 is a very special year for the Waverley as it marks the 40th anniversary of the 1st Preservation Sailing of the paddle steamer.
In 1975 that this world famous paddle steamer (the last ocean going paddle steamer in the world) took back to the waves after the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society bought her for £1 following her retirement.
Ruby Anniversary Cruise
In May 2015 Waverley will celebrate her Ruby Anniversary with a cruise through the world famous Kyles of Bute to visit to visit the exquisite village of Tighnabruaich on 23 May. If you’re one of the lucky ones who have a ticket you can take a short, scenic stroll from the Tighnabruaich pier into the village where you can browse through antiques, charity and gift shops as well as visiting the Tighnabruaich Gallery with its superb selection of Scottish art.
Alternatively, you can visit the village of Tarbert for 2 hours ashore or cruise Loch Fyne towards Adrishaig.
Weekly Waverley Sailings from Tighnabruaich
In addition to Waverley’s special visit in May, she also sails from Tighnabruaich Pier throughout the summer taking visitors around the beautiful Scottish west coast and sea lochs.
