On a beautiful Spring evening in April we held our latest Gourmet Night which was a resounding success!
It was a a full house with all guests highly anticipating the culinary delights of the Night’s 7 course menu with matching wines.
Eva Franchesci of wine merchants Inverarity Morton came along and guided us through the beautiful wine choices for the evening highlighting the subtleties of flavour that were specifically chosen to complement the gourmet dishes created by our Head Chef.
The menu for the evening was sumptuous 7 courses inspired by traditional Scottish dishes and painstakingly crafted to make the most out of the fabulous local produce available to us at this time of year.
Some dishes and wines were:
Canapés of Prawns with a Lemon Chiffon Dressing, Cream and Chive, Chef’s Game Pate, Date, Bacon and Gruyere Cheese
(accompanying wine Maillard Premier Cru Brut NV Champagne)
Verrine of Game and Poultry, Port and orange Sauce with a Toasted Comma
(accompanying wine Petit Pas Rouge, Mas Janeil 2014, Coyes de Roussillon, France)
Honey and Sesame Seed Chicken Strips with a Bed of Vegetables, Greens, Edible Flowers accompanied by Char Grilled Peaches, Duo of Purees, Beetroot and Butternut Squash
