Ladies Toilet Handpainted Mural of Tighnabruaich

Mural of Tighnabruaich beach and houses looking up the Kyles of Bute

The Ladies toilet at the Royal an Lochan used to be a room with a view but since it was converted into a toilet the window was blocked up and it’s now the back wall.

It looked so bland and uninspiring especially when we knew what was on the other side of it (a spectacular view up the Kyles of Bute) so we thought it would be a great idea to paint a mural on it to show what the view up the Kyles of Bute was like when the window was still in place.

Referring to a photo we took of the view, a member of staff carefully drew out the scene and the whole thing was painted in stages. Now we have a spectacular mural that depicts the view on the other side of the wall and while it doesn’t let in light any more, the mural certainly is a mood lifter.
