What is the secret of a meal to remember? For us at The Royal an Lochan it is about the complete experience, from pre-dinner drinks in one of our two lounges to the relaxed ambience and stunning views from our restaurants. Of course a great wine selection and fresh local seafood and produce served in a modern Scottish style goes without saying. The Kyles of Bute feature through the windows of both our Restaurants, serving the Deck Menu and providing an informal, friendly atmosphere.
Why not try our delicious menu in the Deck Restaurant which includes vegetarian dishes, and our duck, chicken and halibut dishes have all been restyled to make the most of seasonal vegetables. The Seafood Menu is tried and tested and works well, so no changes there.
The Deck Restaurant is now warm and inviting with its new artwork by Scottish artists, courtesy of the Tighnabruaich Gallery, and freshly painted walls, gone is the light green, the walls are now warm and vibrant.

The Royal Shinty Bar
Rub shoulders with the locals in the Shinty Bar
The walls of the bar are adorned with photos of Kyles Athletic Shinty team, one of the best teams in Scotland. The photos date back to 1901 and are displayed along with other Shinty memorabilia. We serve a range of more traditional home cooked bar foods using the fresh produce available to us. So why not pull up a barstool, have a pint with the locals and enjoy some hearty bar food. Alternatively on a nice sunny day why not eat outside and watch the world and the yachts go by.
As great believers in the use of local seafood and produce, The Royal an Lochan is a member of the Seafood Trail which is a must for all ‘sea foodies’.
